‘A celebration of life’ The GuardianFrom the award-winning producers of 2040, The Australian Dream and That Sugar Film comes Volcano Man, an entertaining and heartfelt documentary about life, love, loss, and the strength of the human spirit. Nominated for Best Documentary Feature by the Film Critics Circle of Australia 2023 and having its World Premiere at the 70th Melbourne International Film Festival, this raw and revealing feature documentary combines archival footage and photographs, lively narration and talking heads, and a buoyant rock ’n’ roll score to recount a relationship marred by grief and failed dreams. But this is also a film about filmmaking – the cinema as preservation of self, whether in coping, catharsis or committing experiences to memory. Featuring a vibrant rock score including historic 1970s footage of Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones, this is an ideal fit for audiences interested in music, fame, family and the nature of memory.
